Fitness Consultant

Balance Gym is currently seeking fitness consultants for our Washington, DC health clubs. The Fitness Consultant is responsible for connecting with potential gym members to promote and sell gym memberships and/or other gym services when needed, including personal training and CrossFit. The ideal candidate must be a highly personable and dynamic individual who can connect well with people and effectively articulate the benefits of fitness and sell gym memberships. It’s crucial that our consultants can represent and promote the ‘Balance Brand’ – we’re looking for personable and charismatic leaders who want to learn voraciously, develop their skills and talents, and who ultimately want to grow with us. Balance Gym is a DC-based entrepreneurial gym founded upon principles of hard work, ambition, and a strong sense of community. The ideal candidate should be similarly tenacious, self-motivated, and capable of functioning without micromanagement. Job responsibilities


Faculty Specific:

  • Generate membership sales leads through outreach and promotions
  • Continually follow up with leads provided by the Company or through one’s own internal network
  • Maintain accurate records using Balance Gym sales systems and software
  • Follow up diligently and appropriately on all prospects
  • Conduct gym tours and knowledgeably explain all equipment, classes, and programs
  • Learn the ins and outs of Balance Gym history and programs and educate others about Balance Gym
  • Make telephone calls and handle telephone inquiries
  • Establish and maintain referral programs
  • Be a fitness enthusiast who conveys the importance of gym membership and fitness as part of a healthy lifestyle
  • Effectively represent the Balance culture
  • Work closely and effectively with a team
  • Connect with corporate clients and develop corporate leads
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Background in sales or fitness industry preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and and use Motionsoft software
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent management skills
  • Strong history of Integrity and honesty
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a drive for excellence
  • A comprehensive understanding of the fitness industry

Required Education, Certification, and Experience:

  • Experience in a health club or the hospitality industry is preferred
  • College degree preferred
  • Further Education in fitness preferred
  • Active CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
