Dave Liss

A lifelong fitness enthusiast and "gym rat," Dave is an AFAA certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor with a focus on boxing and sports conditioning. He has over 8 years experience training, teaching and coaching male and female clients from age 7 to 86.

Dave enables his clients to improve their health and create lasting change by building a fun, safe, supportive program that includes: injury prevention, improved eating and healthy lifestyle habits, and a strong support network outside the gym to help clients achieve success in the gym. Unique programs are written for every client that reflect their goals, preferences and abilities.  

Whatever your fitness goals, Dave is totally committed to getting you there.  When you are on travel, you'll get diet and exercise reminder emails and texts from him. He'll do whatever it takes to get you where you want to go.

Dave has extensive experience and success building safe and effective workouts for elderly, disabled persons and people with extreme weight management issues, diabetes, Parkinson's, hypertension and dementia. 

When he's not at Balance Gym, Dave teaches a variety of boxing, kickboxing, group strength, agility, interval, abs and spinning classes at gyms, and in parks, across the DC area.

He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor’s degree in Labor Studies from Penn State University.
