Shawn's fitness journey began with CrossFit and about 35+ extra pounds around his mid-section. After experiencing how amazing living a healthy lifestyle can be, he decided to share it with others, and became a personal trainer.
Quickly branching out into group exercise, Shawn's ""healthy obsession"" with all things fitness pushed him to expand his repertoire to teaching bootcamps, yoga, Zumba, and CrossFit among other things.
He is the Director of BalanceBurn and his newest obsession is the megaformer where he spends countless hours with his private clients, as well as, ""feeling the burn"" himself. When Shawn isn't on the megaformer with the ramp set on 5, or lifting heavy weights, you can expect to see him doing a random cha cha cha through the gym or bursting out into spontaneous song.
Shawn has an eclectic athletic background that includes football, basketball, baseball, tennis, and rugby. He is an active member of the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, D.C. and enjoys acting, singing, and dancing.
