The Front Desk Associate will be responsible for customer service and security at the front desk. They will greet and direct members, guests, and staff as they enter the gym and provide control of the front door location. This position will provide assistance to members’ requests and inquiries, as well as perform various administrative duties as directed by the Front Desk Manager or General Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creates a friendly positive entrance into the gym by greeting every entrant
  • Provides security and control to the front desk area
  • Monitors check-ins to identify delinquent accounts
  • Registers all guests using proper sign-in procedures
  • Ensures guests and appointments are directed to proper staff in a prompt manner
  • Answers phone in a professional and courteous behavior
  • Responds to member’s concerns, suggestions, and complaints in a timely and courteous manner
  • Process retail and concession sales
  • Maintains excellent communication between members and Balance staff
  • Other duties as assigned by the Front Desk Manager, Assistant GM, GM or the Executive Team


  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Capable of effectively communicating between management, staff, and guests
  • Capable of basic cash processing
  • Ability to utilize basic computer skills and gym-specific software
  • Ability to multitask to successfully perform front desk and fitness concierge duties
  • Very strong organization skills
