Strength and Conditioning
Kellyn is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, she moved to DC to attend The George Washington University for a Master of Arts in Museum Studies. She spent over a decade in federal service working in museums across the city before making the switch to personal training.
Kellyn played roller derby with the DC Rollergirls for five years, skating with the Cherry Blossom Bombshells and the National Maulers. After retiring from derby, she started lifting at Balance Gym and fell in love with the barbell and strength training. She believes you’re never too old or too young to learn how to lift. She especially enjoys working with anyone who might feel intimidated stepping into the gym or weight room. Kellyn uses a combination of weight training and circuit training to help her clients build strength physically and mentally to conquer their goals both in and out of the gym.
She has also competed in powerlifting, snagging a bronze medal in the USAPL 2018 Fall Filibuster. When not coaching, Kellyn enjoys going on adventures with her husband and snuggling with their three cats.
