What is Hyrox?

Hyrox is a global fitness race that combines 8 kilometers of running with 8 functional workout stations. It’s known as “The World Series of Fitness Racing,” and involves endurance running with functional fitness, designed to be accessible for everyday gym-goers as well as elite athletes, with categories for all levels.

At Balance Gym we offer two HYROX tracks – Engine and Power – designed to get you ready for race day or get your fit for everyday life.

HYROX Engine

Focus is on developing endurance in a variety of manners, ranging from aerobic capacity to lactate threshold to muscular endurance and stamina to speed. Athletes will become faster runners, increase their work rate, and improve their ability on the rower, ski erg and bike. It includes a greater number of repetitions and increased distances on specific machines, challenging your muscles in unique ways. This can lead to improved muscular strength, enhanced cardiovascular resilience, and overall increased performance in a range of physical activities.

HYROX Power

This is a comprehensive and complete workout that focuses specifically on developing strength in all forms possible. It’s centered more on traditional strength training rather than skills and aerobic fitness. The program includes a variety of workout formats such as long time domane, to short intervals. We use DB’s, body weight, ergs, barbells and more.

HYROX ENGINE

This class will increase your endurance capacity. Expect to see running (both treadmills and outside), ergs and body weight movement in different ways like intervals, teamwork or long steady pace. Great for all levels of athletes that are looking to get sweaty.

HYROX POWER

45 minutes of both strength and cardio endurance. Expect to use DBs, your body weight, ergs and other functional movements/equipment in patterns that replicate both the challenges of the HYROX competition AND the challenges of every day life. The class includes a warm-up, strength and cardio and is great for all levels of athletes regardless of fitness goal.
